The Sidekick is an adjustable kydex holster, performing well from appendix carry to strong side.
Originally using parts sold by Raven Concealment, it is similar to the Eidolon. The RCS claw was exchanged in favor of a modular version that allows you to choose how much grip rotation you want.
The angle of cant is adjustable, as is the ride height. It is also tuck-able.
It has two more features which make it work well for aiwb, an integrated claw to pull the grip in to the body, and an optional wedge which will push the barrel out at the bottom, bringing the top (rear sights) in closer to the body. The wedge is removable.
Please note: it comes with two belt clips. The only reason you’ll want to order extras is if you want clips of a different size.
It is still tuck-able, even with the strut and loops. The loops are adjustable and will fit 1.25″, 1.5″, or 1.75″ belts.
The slide length is extended on most models, especially the sub compacts, as the extra length increases stability. It’s also necessary to make sure the clips don’t extend past the bottom of the holster, which would poke you when you sit. There is some slight variation between models, but most end up at the full size version length. Please keep in mind that the G17, afull size, is only .4″ longer than the G19, a compact.
They can be trimmed to a small extent, but not much, and it limits the size of clips available. 1.75″ RCS clips and all DCC clips are no longer useable with the shortened models.
The Discreet Carry Concepts clips are made of spring steel and are an excellent choice if you’re concerned about durability of the clips, or want to reduce the profile. They have the added advantage of grabbing clothing, enabling you to wear the holster without a belt, as long as your pants are capable of holding the weight. 🙂 These are what I use on my personal holster.
You can choose between two styles of wedge: the RCS model which is made of rubber, or the foam wedge. You can also try both, as they’re both removable. 🙂 Personally, I find the foam wedge more comfortable, but it does wear out eventually and the RCS wedge is popular with many.
Lead time: 7-10 days. This is an estimate, not a guarantee.
